Code Warnings and Quality Inspection

Index of All Documentation » Wing Pro Reference Manual »

Wing Pro flags incorrect code by drawing an indicator on the code in the editor. This is done for syntax errors, indentation errors, code that can't be reached, undefined variables or attributes, imports that cannot be resolved, and some other types of errors.

Unlike most other Python code checkers, Wing's built-in code checker focuses on errors that are likely to indicate real problems in the code. Stylistic issues and minor warnings are ignored by Wing's built-in code checker.

However, Wing's code warnings may be supplemented with errors and warnings found with external code quality checkers like mypy, pep8, and pylint. These can be managed easily from Wing's Code Warnings tool, to globally hide less interesting warnings.
