Editor and Code Intelligence Tools
Wing IDE Professional speeds development with powerful editor and code intelligence capabilities. Reduce typing burden and errors with the auto-completer, find and inspect code with the source browser, view context-appropriate call signature and documentation with the source assistant, and navigate your code with source index menus and goto-definition feature. Wing's integrated Python shell is also shown here.
Debug Tools
Wing IDE Professional includes a range of tools for faster debugging. Run to a breakpoints, optionally conditional or counted, inspect and change locals, globals, sys.modules, watch values and expressions, or inspect the debug process state interactively from the familiar Python shell prompt using Wing's Debug Probe. Wing also supports integrated debug I/O, optional external console I/O, remote and externally launched debugging (for example for web services, CGIs, or Zope), and the debugger stops immediately on unexpected (unhandled) exceptions.
Configurable User Interface
Wing IDE Professional is highly configurable: Alter the toolbar, add optional editor notebook tabs, change from single-window to multi-window mode, alter the overall look, or visual "theme" of the user interface, tweak font, size, and color options, add or remove splits in the tool areas and editor, change the layout and content of the tool areas, create multiple instances of tools, change key bindings to emacs or by altering individual bindings, and much more. Wing IDE is designed to look and work the way you want it to.
The latest stable release is Wing IDE 3.2.10, released on August 18, 2010. A newer beta release, version 4.0.0-b4, is also available for testing.. We update these screenshots periodically but not with every release.
